Recent REXwireless Software Releases Log

REXwireless provides highlights of what has changed in recent releases below. Only significant releases are shown here. Minor point releases may be offered from time to time to correct small items when necessary. It is always recommended to upgrade to the newest release, especially if you are having any issues.

AlertMatrix Client Release Level 2008.06.19.4x

1) Don't prompt for dismiss if alert was already dismissed via opening of the email source.

2) Implemented "opened" linking for emails. If a person opens the e-mail in the normal BlackBerry e-mail inbox, AlertMatrix will understand that the e-mail was viewed and dismiss the alert.

3) Implement "opened" linking for missed calls. Selecting the missed call from call log will dismiss alert.

4) Change Alert Dialog to detect certain dark themes and adjust the background colors accordingly. Also add a profile item to force the dark theme in cases where the theme is not detected correctly.

5) Move "Alert dialog" option to Alert (was in Preferences in previous versions of AlertMatrix). This allows the user to specify an alert which does not trigger an alert pop-over dialog.

6) Improved Reply to PIN message capability.

7) Cancel noise on any keystroke or navigation click when Popup is displayed.

8) Enhanced injection of missed calls from the messages folder (RIM added as a new BlackBerry feature in 4.3 OS).

9) Fixed issue: Alpha-numeric sender for SMS not getting caught.

10) Fixed five minor issues regarding injection.

AlertMatrix Client Release Level 2008.06.09.42 (4.2 OS and above) and
2008.06.10.40 (4.0 and 4.1 OS)

1) Expand Notification table size to 5,000 records.

2) Email with no "To:" recipients will cause ArrayOutOfBounds when opened with Email viewer. Example: Email sent to a list with "undisclosed" recipients.

3) Add new LED colors to alert options.

4) Add tone-only preview to alert management - alert sounds when you change tone setting.

5) Add prompt to mark email items as "opened" on dismiss-all.

6) Add support for trackwheel click (8700, 7100, 7200, 7500) devices to invoke menu.

7) Current alert is not identified in view-pending when a partial delay-all is in effect.

8) If alert is preempted, reset the next fire date/time so that the alert is re-fired as soon as the pre-empting event is handled.

9) Email with no "To:" address may incorrectly trigger a rule which is looking for a specific address.

10) Submit button on Delay-All screen does not activate with Enter key.

11) Implement DEL key function in Alert and Rules edit screens.

12) Changes to startup code to work around a RIM bug in OS 4.5

13) Make popup dialog selection sticky so that the next invocation of the popup will default to the last selection.

14) Add security tip screen in startup for situations where security does not allow program to access resources, such as phone.

15) Add injection of Email or SMS to TodoMatrix and IdeaMatrix. "Inject" menu items added if these applications are running on the device.

AlertMatrix Client Release Level 2008.05.27.42 (RC2)

1) Add ability to invoke Quick*Add Wizard Injector from BlackBerry Contacts / Address Book.

2) Add Quick*Add Injector Feature to Email, SMS, and Phone Log.

3) Add "Dismiss Alert" prompt.

4) Added "To:" field to E-mail previewer.

5) Added several MP3 Ring Tones

6) Added Active and Inactive icons to Alert and Rule list displays.

8) Added "Create from Contacts" to Rules Management.

IdeaMatrix Client Release Level 2008.03.06.4x

1) Fixed important issue with sync and backup communications that is a problem in the 2008.03.01.xx and 2008.03.05.xx release.

2) Added "inbound e-mail autoinjection" feature to the system/unfiled - any email with a subject that starts with "IMX" is automatically injected to the unfiled folder.

3) Fixed 5 small bugs.

ToDoMatrix Client Release Level 2008.03.06.4x

1) Added adjustments for BlackBerry 4.3.x OS support.

2) Added password option on entry with adjustable idle period (see Profile Preferences).

3) Improved expand / collapse drawer functionality, optimized for trackball equipped BlackBerry smartphones. Enhancements include left / right support while cursor is on any folder within a drawer.

4) Added new expand all / collapse all functionality on the ALL cabinet icon.

5) Added "inbound e-mail autoinjection" feature to the system/unfiled - any email with a subject that starts with "TMX" is automatically injected to the unfiled folder.

6) Added more relative date choices on menus - both on setting relative alerts and on relative alerts within regenerating tasks

7) Changed Delay All function to include choices beyond 30 minutes.

8) Added "Cancel Delay All" menu item so that a user can see alerts as soon as they want to, even if Delay All has been previously invoked.

9) Space bar hot key is re-tasked to [page down] on folder cabinet view instead of expand collapse.

10) E-mail a todo-task / E-mail folder of tasks function enhanced by launching the native e-mail edit screen. Function now allows e-mailing from any profile configured on the BlackBerry and multiple destinations.

11) Delegate e-mail enhanced to launch native BlackBerry email application as well (see previous item on this list).

12) Added color options for drawers.

13) Fixed option to set frequency of opening tips splash screen which is where REXwireless broadcasts new notices (see Profile Preferences).

14) Implemented changes to support up to 10,000 tasks (previous releases had some limitations at 2,500) - this limit can be expanded again if necessary but keeping a limit is helpful for efficient memory usage and allocation.

15) Added ability to "move" a task even if found and acted upon while in a view and not its home folder.

16) Successful selection is now required on alert pop-up - escape no longer supported.

17) Enhanced sync communications logic for greater reliability.

18) Bug fix for internal memory refresh of new dimension values added.

IdeaMatrix Client Release Level 2008.03.01.4x

1) Added password option on entry with adjustable idle period (see Profile Preferences).

Client Release Level 2007.01.25.4x

1) Added System Integration Injection subsystem, which offers the ability to inject tasks or notes from seven interfaces to standard BlackBerry applications, including BlackBerry e-mail, phone log, calendar, task applet, memopad, browser, and address book.

2) Enhanced the ability of direct actions from our applications, including telephone dialing, sending and e-mail, and browsing directly to a web URL.

3) Add page up and page down capability to the view screen - previous functionality was adversely impacted by the new Injection system.

4) Fixed drawer and folder rename issue where renamed drawers or folders would not be updated correctly in the move to drawer / move to folder routines.

5) Added enhancements to REXdesktop to support Adobe formatted reports for printing
or e-mail delivery.

6) Enhanced trackball functionality for the BlackBerry 8100 Pearl smartphone.
