Does ToDoMatrix synchronize with Outlook or Lotus Notes?

Yes.

ToDoMatrix has the task applet sync (TAS) feature which can be turned on from the main menu. This synchronizes ToDoMatrix with the native BlackBerry tasks applet. Then, normal BlackBerry conduits such as the PC BlackBerry Desktop Manager or BlackBerry Enterprise Server (working with Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes, Novel Groupwise) can sync from the tasks applet to Microsoft Outlook, Lotus Notes, or Groupwise. Other programs work with this feature as well, such as PocketMac and MissingSync for the Mac.

Section 50 of the ToDoMatrix docs covers getting started with Outlook / Notes syncing in detail. http://rexwireless.com/docs

However, here is a short list of highlights to give you an overview:

1) ToDoMatrix TAS feature syncs ToDoMatrix to BlackBerry Tasks Applet (bi-directionally)

2) BlackBerry Task Applet syncs to Outlook, either via BlackBerry Desktop Manager and the USB wire or via wireless is you are on a company BES / Exchange system.

Therefore, ToDoMatrix uses BlackBerry tasks applet as the conduit between ToDoMatrix and Outlook. ToDoMatrix adds a bit of extra trailer info to the record in BlackBerry tasks to overcome the fact that BlackBerry tasks has far less fields than ToDoMatrix does. It is best to not modify these fields manually.

3) To turn TAS on, go to the ToDoMatrix menu, then TAS Sync, Enable

4) Typically, people will map Outlook categories to folders in ToDoMatrix - your case might be different and that is discussed in Section 50 of the ToDoMatrix doc.

5) When TAS is on, tasks added to BlackBerry Tasks appear in ToDoMatrix (Inbox if no category / folder is specified). If a task is added to ToDoMatrix, it appears in Tasks. Syncs are usually up to date in one - two seconds.

6) If you are using BlackBerry Desktop Manager, you need to hook up the device with the USB wire, then go to "Synchronize" on the Desktop Manager main screen, then configuration / synchronization and then the Synchronization button. (If you are on BES / Exchange, all this happens automatically and wirelessly for you).

7) Checkmark Tasks and configure it to sync with Microsoft Outlook

8) Save your config work

9) Then, click on Synchronize on the left hand margin, and let is sync to Outlook

10) Now, new items added in Outlook, BlackBerry Tasks Applet, or ToDoMatrix will sync whenever you do the BlackBerry Desktop Sync.
